Website Terms of Use and Privacy Guidelines

Valley Baptist Health System places the privacy of our patients and web site visitors at the utmost of our priorities. This security and privacy policy is intended to clearly describe how we protect your privacy and how any information given to Valley Baptist through the web site will be used.

If you have any questions about the security or privacy policy of Valley Baptist, please send us an E-mail to: philip.leblanc@valleybaptist.net.

Security

This web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the web site, your information is protected both online and off-line.

If our registration request or order forms ask users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number, social security number, address, etc.), that information is protected by encryption software. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'.

Use of Personal Information

While we use encryption software to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted to our employees. You can be assured that no information provided to the Valley Baptist web site will be shared with any company outside of Valley Baptist Health System.

If you provide information such as name and e-mail address through our foundation site, you will receive useful information to improve your health and infrequent updates on the Valley Baptist Foundation, Valley Baptist web site, and Valley Baptist Services. We may communicate with the user if you request services or have questions regarding Valley Baptist.

You have the option to opt out of receiving future e-mails by contacting us at: michael.swartz@valleybaptist.net.

Correction/Updating Personal Information

If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us.

This can usually be done by sending an E-mail to: michael.swartz@valleybaptist.net.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Home Page so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we may disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an E-mail. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

We keep track of visits to our Web site via an automatic monitoring program that tells us, among other things, how many visits are made to the site; the time of day and date of those visits; and the areas visited. This information is used to evaluate the effectiveness of our site and the effectiveness of any promotion of our site. It helps us answer questions such as these: Are we providing information on our Web site that is useful? Which information is most useful? How have we made you aware that our Web site exists?

The monitoring program does not provide us with any personal information about a visitor. We cannot discern the name, address or any other personal information about visitors to our site.

If we wish to gather such personal information, it will be requested via a form on the site that the user voluntarily completes and submits.

Links

This web site may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that Valley Baptist is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information.
